Last day in NZ. Back to Te Papa with Madame and Pestilence, then we went our separate ways in the shopping streets. I got a half hour internet time in a cafe, then eventually found the book I’d been searching for after a recommendation, The Years of Rice and Salt, an alternative history of the last 800 years if China and the Islamic Empire had dominated instead of Europe (which is wiped out by the Black Death). Got a few presents, including some for N and E and headed back to their place, where I spent the rest of the day setting up their laptop. In the evening a final meal with the family. Lots of wine, laughs, love and photography.
