It was shaping up to be another 12-hour day when a friend from Queensferry phoned up and invited me to see the Coal Porters with him at the Famous Bein Inn at Glenfarg. So it became an 11-hour day and off we went. The CPs are a bluegrass band, mandolin, banjo, guitar, string bass and a superb violinist, with rough-sounding but accurate and emotive three part harmonies. I’ve seen them before and knew what to expect and they were great.
Had to pull out of a Gravy Spiders rehearsal at the weekend due to, yes, work.
