I was delighted yesterday when Mr Postman brought me a DVD of ‘Godot’, the independent film to which Valerie Densmore and I contributed some music last year. More about the film and Greg Kerr, its director.
The film, a slightly surreal comedy, speculates on what Godot was doing while Vladimir and Estragon were waiting for him in Beckett’s play. Turns out he was waiting for a train! Val and I submitted some slightly cracked versions of Joplin’s The Entertainer, and a couple of similar tunes of our own invention, all made slightly off-kilter by distortion and reverb effects, and the fact that they were recorded on a senile piano. Greg also used my song ‘Anywhere But Here’ for the opening and closing credits.
I’ll put streams of the Godot music on this site soon.
