One week almost to the minute when Springsteen ignited Badlands to open his set at Hampden, I find this:

One can only speculate what a strange gig that would have been.
(Actually it probably wasn’t – the ISB at that time, months before they split forever, were being steered by Mike Heron towards being a mainstream, slightly prog, rock band, so there would have been nothing filigree or patchouli about them that night. But who wouldn’t be blown off stage by the E Street Band?)
