I enjoy creating instrumentals as much as writing songs. Sometimes more, in fact, as it removes the stress of having to think of lyrics.
There are two main strands to my instrumental music:
This is my name for a soundscapes created live, in the moment, using a guitar synth and loop pedals.
These are short, composed pieces with the aim of getting them licenced for film, video or TV. I’m in the process of building a large collection of these pieces which I hope will be picked up at some point by a music library. I’m told there’s no point in applying to music libraries until you have 50-100 pieces of music so I’m still at the buildng stage. I submit pieces from time to time to sites like Taxi which try to get your music in front of music supervisors for TV and film.
