This is something I toyed with last year but plan to produce more of now: a series of intimate performances, one song at a time, from my desk, recorded at night very quietly. It seems to match the mood in which most of my songs come to exist, quite shy and private. They’re a middle path between the risk of doing live shows, which I don’t particularly enjoy and are fraught with things to go wrong, and a ‘polished’ recording. There are slips and mistakes in the performances – it is me after all – but at least the video doesn’t freeze.
Here’s the first of this series of The Twilight Show – The Wind Like Lace on Greenan Shore. More songs to follow.
