Normanello played a happy set to a small but friendly audience last night at Out of the Bedroom. Since our debut at the Spiegeltent last month we’ve played three gigs, two of them paying more than Nelson’s ever earned from gigs in his life! Anyway it’s fun and that’s what matters. A few conversations at OOTB have revealed solo singers taking refuge from the trials of organising bands – the logistics, the politics, the expense. A duo is a good compromise – you don’t have too much consensus to worry about, but you get a fuller sound, ideas you wouldn’t have had, and some welcome companionship. Next for us will be to start recording a CD, just a few tracks.
Mal Function kindly sent some photos of the Spiegeltent gig.
All planned gigs over, it’s up to Aberdeen on Sunday to return Pest to university, then Madame and I fly to the Algarve on Wednesday for a short holiday.
