Planning and recording in the morning, a jam with Fraser Drummond and his friend John in the afternoon at Fraser’s cottage in Pilton (I didn’t know they had cottages in Pilton). A collector of musical instruments and plants from across the world, his garden is as fascinating as his home studio.  The pleasure and demand of jamming: picking up on an idea dropped by someone else, or waking up and realising you’ve been noodling in your own little world for five minutes and the music has moved on.

After a  nice curry concocted by Fraser I went off to meet friend Karen from the Decibelles; instead of a rehearsal we went to see the film Festival starring Daniela Nardini, a great comedy about comedians and actors at the Fringe with some cringeworthy characters and some poignant moments.
