Drake Scotland are trying to get funding from the People’s Millions lottery for a recording studio called TRACS: the details are here.
We want to create a buzz in Edinburgh and give our musicians the chance to write and play and record their music. So we want to fit out the studio with the best sound recording equipment we can get to do justice to all their excellent musical ideas and talents.
They will be able to make CD’s to share with friends and family, get their stuff out there on the airwaves and on the internet so it has a much wider impact. With the funds we’d run some recording projects with people who haven’t had the chance to make music and record.
I’ve seen the band Audability, who came out of a Drake project, and they’re a tight, rocking band with superb songwriting skills. Drake want to give more disabled musicians the opportunity to get a wider audience.
