Sgt Buzfuz

I forgot to mention there’s an excellent London band playing tonight at the Caledonian Backpackers. I don’t know if I’ll make it as I may have to provide a teenager taxi service, but they’re called Sgt Buzfuz and are described as part to the ‘anti-folk’ movement, whatever that is.  The lineup and sound is lush and eclectic: drums, cello, hammered dulcimer/violin/vox,  violin/whistle and guitar/vox.

It’s quite driving and spiky, but the slower numbers reminded me when I saw them last year of  Scott Walker and Jacques Brel.
Great songwriting. More here and at SgtBuzfuz.com
