Gradually picking the needle of music out of the haystack of ‘stuff’ in my life. Nelson and I commence recording the Wright Brothers CD next week (four songs, probably); the Gravy Spiders or Non-Fast Coloureds or whatever we’re going to be called meet tonight for the first time in several months to make a grand old noise in Groove Tunnel. A rehearsal with theG.co.uk is on the horizon and, most unexpected, I’ve started working on new songs, using my extra time gained by getting up earlier. I’ve decided not to stand as Chair of the arts festival again, which should also protect my time for what is, after all, what I love doing most.
Tomorrow, a long train journey to see Leonard Cohen and Phillip Glass together in London and, on Sunday, a longer train journey back.
